ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Today marks 23 years since the September 11 terrorist attacks. Today, we look back to honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost. We shall never forget those who perished and the first responders who selflessly braved the unknown that day.

Meteorologists Matt Mackie and Kevin Appleby say this Wednesday will be warm with a ton of sun and a high of 78. The temperatures will only trend upward toward the end of the week, but humidity shouldn’t be that high.

Fallen hero Sergeant Ivan Morales was honored by the Catskill Fire Department on the eve of America’s worst terror attack. 1. Fallen hero Ivan Morales honored by Catskill Fire Department

A local fire department honoring a fallen hero on the eve of America’s worst terror attack. The Catskill Fire Department coming together to posthumously honor New York State Trooper, Sergeant Ivan Morales, by voting to make him an honorary lifetime member of the department.

2. Harris and Trump face off in tense, critical debate in Philadelphia

The matchup offered Americans their most detailed look at a campaign that’s dramatically changed since the last debate in June which forced President Joe Biden from the race. The Democratic vice president immediately moved to press the case against the former Republican president and his bombastic rhetoric, linking him to the conservative Project 2025 blueprint for a Republican administration and GOP efforts to restrict abortion access.

3. Glens Falls kindergartener escapes school, found in nearby pond

A kindergartener at Kensington Elementary School wandered off during school hours on Monday and was found uninjured inside a nearby pond. The school is now increasing safety measures to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

4. Phish to perform at MVP Arena in Albany

The band and arena announced that 100% of net proceeds from all concert and merchandise sales will benefit the Divided Sky Foundation , a non-profit organization dedicated to addiction recovery. Ticket requests are currently being accepted through the event website until September 16 at noon.

5. Shenendehowa to stop using ‘Plainsmen’ nickname

The Shenendehowa Board of Education voted on a proposal Tuesday to end the use of the Plainsmen nickname.
