Bargain Grocery sets opening date in Troy

TROY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Bargain Grocery, a non-profit grocery store aiming to fight food insecurity, has set its grand opening date in Troy . The store is set to officially open on September 20 at 10 a.m.

Pastor Michael Servello is the founder and CEO of Bargain Grocery. The grocery store has one other location in Utica, which he opened in 2018.

“We are 30% below the price of the big box stores,” Servello previously told NEWS10. “It feels really good. Like I said, it’s missional. We are about helping the people who need it the most. Our whole vision has been going to the most desperate.”

A ribbon cutting was held for Bargain Grocery in June, but the store was not ready to open yet. The store sells grocery essentials such as fruits and vegetables, dairy, meat, non-perishable goods, frozen items, and more.

Bargain Grocery is located at 558 River Street. The store is scheduled to be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
