Roads close in Amsterdam after second water main break

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The city of Amsterdam has announced that there was a second water main break causing road closures. The water main break occurred on West Main Street.

The following road closures will be taking place until the work on the water main is complete:

• West Main Street between Caroline Street and Henrietta Street
• All southbound traffic on Evelyn Street from Division Street to West Main Street

The city asks drivers to take alternate routes until the work is finished because no traffic will be allowed through and detour signs will be posted. Anyone with questions regarding the road closure can call the Department of Public Works at (518) 842-3691.
