    Threats of violence continue against Bethlehem schools

    DELMAR, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Two more threats of violence have been made against the Bethlehem Central School District. This now means five threats have been called in since Tuesday night.

    The latest two threats were made Thursday night. School officials said phone calls were made to the Bethlehem Police Department at 8:01 p.m. and 8:03 p.m.

    The first call threatened the high school with gun violence on Friday. The second call threatened the football team on Friday, specifically at 5:30 p.m. The football game against Christian Brothers Academy had already been canceled.

    The district said all schools will be open on Friday. There will be an increased police presence at all schools, all schools will be under a precautionary lockout, a bag check will take place at the high school, and all afterschool activities will be suspended on Friday until further notice.

    The first threat was made Tuesday night. The caller threatened to “shoot up Bethlehem High School.” A threat made against outdoor activities at Bethlehem High School was made Wednesday afternoon. The third threat was made Wednesday night claiming gun violence against the middle school and high school on Thursday.

    This nonsense must stop. Hopefully those responsible are found and if minors, hold the parents accountable as well
