Coxsackie police investigating Route 81 accident

COXSACKIE, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to an accident on State Route 81 in the town of Coxsackie.

Around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, police said a box truck was driving eastbound when he struck a trailer being towed by a pickup truck that was pulled over onto the shoulder. The collision pushed the truck forward and entangled a 37-year-old man who was under the truck fixing a mechanical issue.

The driver of the box truck as well as a 17-year-old passenger were taken to Albany Medical Center for evaluation. The driver of the pickup truck was also taken to Albany Med for his injuries.

Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash. It remains under investigation.
