    A child was bitten by a dog at the Adirondack Balloon Festival on Friday. Also, new details have been revealed in the triple Pawlet, Vermont homicide. These stories, and more, are in your five things to know this Tuesday.

    1. Child bitten by dog at Adirondack Balloon Festival

    The Adirondack Balloon Festival took an unexpected turn on Friday when a three-year-old boy was bitten in the face by a dog he tried to pet. Authorities are now searching for the animal involved to confirm whether the child requires rabies treatment.

    2. Grisly new details in Pawlet triple homicide

    2733 Vermont Route 133. Terrible things happened there. The Rutland County State’s Attorney’s Office says, just before 4 a.m. on September 15, Brian Crossman Jr. called police to tell them he found his father, stepmother, and stepbrother shot to death inside their home.

    3. School merger process halted after vote

    The Johnsburg and Minerva boards of education voted Monday on whether to move forward with a plan to combine the two districts into one . A feasibility study was presented to both boards last week.

    4. New York representatives propose state funding cut over bail reform

    Congressmember Marc Molinaro, a Republican representing New York’s 21st district, introduced legislation in the House of Representatives aimed at bail reform . The “Keep Our Streets Safe Act” would divert funding to states that seal criminal records or that don’t incarcerate suspects before a conviction.

    5. Troopers: Clifton Park teen arrested for making threat of mass harm

    According to the State Police, they were assisted by the Albany Federal Bureau of Investigation Joint Terrorism Task Force in arresting a Clifton Park teen on Sunday. The unnamed teen allegedly made a threat against Queensbury High School and faces multiple charges.
