ALBANY, NY ( NEWS10 ) — You’d be hard pressed to find two teams with more history in Section 2 football over the last three years than CBA and Shenendehowa. The programs have met six times, including three straight Class AA Super Bowls. The latest chapter of the rivalry will be written this Friday night at Shen, and it’s our 1st & 10 Game of the Week.

The Brothers have been on the winning side of the rivalry in recent history. CBA has won five of those last six meetings, beating the Plainsmen in three straight Super Bowls. Shen beat CBA in last year’s regular season matchup.

This season finds the Brothers unbeaten, shutting out both Albany and Saratoga Springs. Shen is 2-1, falling to Shaker in Week 0, but beating Guilderland and Colonie.

Despite the Brothers getting the better of the Plainsmen in the Super Bowls, they aren’t complacent. They know what’s at stake this Friday night. “It’s just something that the kids look forward to,” said CBA head coach Bob Burns. “I mean, it’s the reason that they come to CBA, to play games like this. They’re one of the biggest schools in the section. They have a lot of similarities to us. It’s the big boy on the block, I guess. At the end of the day we’ve had, since I got here, we’ve had several competitive clashes with them and we played them in the last three Super Bowls. I think there’s added incentive there.”

“We start off by saying it’s zero-zero on the clock with them,” said senior wide receiver and outside linebacker Lucius Anderson. “Every single time that we play them, we want to come out and make a statement that we still are the best team in the section and it’s not close. So I don’t think anybody on this team is going to ever say that the game’s overlooked at all. We’re coming to look to shut them out with a zero, just like we’ve done before in the Super Bowl.”

Kickoff on Friday is set for 7:00 PM at Shenendehowa High School. We’ll have all of your high school football coverage on 1st & 10 every Friday night at 10:30 PM on Fox, and at 11:00 PM on ABC.
