LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Here at the Six Flags Great Escape Fright Fest 2024, things have frightened up. Several changes will be evident as a few of the haunted houses were upgraded and the new roller coaster Bob Cat, decked out for a frightful ride into the night.

“It’s very scary. We were like in the middle of everything. They walked around us, and I did not like that,” said a Fright Fest fanatic.

Some park goers holding a “No Boo” stick which keeps the scare actors from scaring you while at the event. New to the park this year is a “No Boo” light up pumpkin necklace.

Even the parks’ rides are ready to take you on a frightful ride into the night.

The Communications and Events Manager Taylor Myers says there’s a trick to a successful haunt. “You know, people really want to be scared and ultimately, they know that they’re safe So they can really immerse themselves into the theme of the storyline. And they can kind of let go. And get that scary emotion that they were looking for,” said Myers.

Two haunted houses got a makeover this year. CarnEvil got a whole new paint job and Skull Manor got two new scary room upgrades. “Three years in and I gotta say this is the most freakiest Fright Fest haunted house I’ve experienced, so far,” exclaimed NEWS10 reporter James De La Fuente.

There are also lots of new food options. This year they have some great fry bread, Beastly Fries and colorful cocktails and mocktails. That’s right, some with spirits and some without. Be sure to check out the new glasses they come in. “I spoke about Beastly Fries being new this year, it comes with french fries, onions, bacon bits and 1000 Island dressing,” said NEWS10 reporter James De La Fuente.

Fright Fest 2024 runs Friday through Sunday until October 27th. For those who are not into the big scare, Boo Fest runs from noon to four Saturdays and Sundays.

Sucked! Coasters breaking down or closed for repair/painting. Half the rides outta existence because of low staffing. There were 1000's of people there today, and the line backed up on more than half the bridge. Hopefully, the next chance we get to go before the year is up will be better!!!!
