    ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Happy Wednesday! Meteorologist Matt Mackie says it’ll be another cool, breezy day with more sunshine and temperature highs in the low 50s.

    NEWS10 got Saratoga Springs’ Black Lives Matter movement reaction to the police review audit progress. Also, due to cold temperatures, Pittsfield High School is closed on Wednesday and Thursday. These stories, and more, are in your five things to know this Wednesday.

    1. Saratoga Springs BLM reacts to police review audit progress

    The Saratoga Springs Police Department independent review audit lists 50 points of concern for reform. On Tuesday night a Black Lives Matter rally was held on the front steps of city hall where protestors voiced their concerns with the report. NEWS10 was there and has more from the safety commissioner and chief of police on progress made thus far.

    2. Pittsfield HS closed Oct. 16-17 due to cold temperatures inside building

    Pittsfield High School will be closed on Wednesday, October 16, and Thursday, October 17 because of the cold temperatures inside the building. The district said a new boiler is being installed.

    3. Hudson passes Good Cause Eviction Law

    It joins Albany, Kingston, Poughkeepsie, and others that have also opted into the statewide legislation that gives renters more rights and offers fewer exemptions for landlords.

    4. Holiday train returns to locations in Capital Region

    Every year around the Holiday season, a special train makes its way to parts of the Capital Region from Canada, benefitting local food banks and bringing entertainment to the station where it stops. The Canadian Pacific Holiday Trail (CPKC) will follow the route, stopping in Fort Edward, Saratoga Springs, Mechanicville, and Menands.

    5. Fatal house fire in Dutchess County remains under investigation

    On Sunday, a house fire in Dutchess County sent numerous people to the hospital. A 35-year-old woman, Shannon Hubbard, and her one-year-old child were pronounced dead at Vassar Hospital and Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, respectively, after being rescued from the home.
