    Founder of South End Grocery pleads guilty to assault

    ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Travon Jackson, the founder of the now-closed South End Grocery in Albany, appeared in court on Thursday. Jackson was arrested in December for allegedly breaking into an apartment on Bassett Street.

    On Christmas morning, Jackson allegedly broke into the apartment to steal electronics. A man in the home confronted Jackson, who then stabbed the man with a screwdriver. The victim had minor injuries.

    Jackson pleaded guilty in Albany County Court on Thursday to second-degree assault, a felony. He is scheduled to be sentenced on December 17 at 9:30 a.m.

    A crying shame. Probably wanted to sell the stuff for drugs. I pray he gets help. But he must oa the consequences for his actions. I'm glad the bictim didn't lose his precious life. 🙏
