ALBANY, NY ( NEWS10 ) — The CBA football team has been dominant since Bob Burns took over the program, winning three Class AA titles in three seasons. Its been the same old song and dance this year, with the Brothers out to a 6-0 start, outscoring opponents 263-26. The Brothers face their toughest test yet this Friday night in our 1st & 10 Game of the Week, visiting undefeated Shaker.

The Brothers have won their last three match-ups with the Blue Bison, including a playoff win last year. The Brothers have been the cream of the crop in Class AA, not only winning the three titles, but winning 22 of their last 23 league games.

With Burns now in his 4th season, he says having guys who have played for him for years now has helped take their culture to the next level. “You try to mold your team into something that, you know what you’re going to get every single Friday night,” said Burns. “This particular group that I have right now, I mean, we’re not there yet, but we’re pretty close to me knowing that once we line up and we put the ball on the ground, I know what I’m going to get. They’re going to give maximum effort and they’re going to do everything in their power to try to win the game regardless of how it goes.”

“That’s kind of the standard [Burns] has built for us,” said junior quarterback Archie Jones. “He’s told us players play, so we show up and we play and it’s what he’s trained us to do. So, just listen to the man. If we do what we’ve got to do, there’s really nobody that can stop us.”
