    Vernon County Sheriff's Office hosts 12th annual K9 walk

    VIROQUA, Wis. (WKBT) -- The Vernon County Sherrif's Office hosted their annual K9 Walk Saturday.

    The event featured a one-fourth mile kids fun run, followed by trophies and medals for first, second, and third place winners.

    Following the fun run was the 5K run where the divisions are broken down by age.

    One Vernon County Sheriff says none of this would be possible without support from the community.

    "It is just nice to be able to connect with the community in such a very positive light," said Roy Torgerson.

    Nearly 200 people were in attendance Saturday. All proceeds will go towards maintenance, training, and equipment costs for the Vernon County K9 unit.
