Cashton HS students learn what it's like to work for the Monroe County government

SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) -- Juniors from Cashton High School visited the Monroe County Justice Center on Wednesday.

They were there to learn how the different areas of county government work.

49 juniors spent the day hearing from different departments, including the health department and human services.

They even got to experience what it is like to be a county board member and simulated a vote on a resolution.

After lunch, they headed to the courthouse to attend bond hearings and learn about different services the courthouse offers.

The organizer for the visit said this a chance for students to learn about different opportunities available to them should they choose to work in a government setting.
