    Threat prompts shelter in place at De Soto schools

    DE SOTO, Wis. (WKBT) -- De Soto Area School District schools had a shelter in place Wednesday Afternoon due to a threat sent via email.

    The Vernon County Sheriff's Department shared on Facebook that they were responding to the threat around 3:00 p.m. Deputies were dispatched to each school to investigate the validity of the threat.

    The shelter in place was released at approximately 3:18 p.m. by the Sheriff's Department.

    The district has shared that school dismissal will resume as usual, but buses may be delayed due to the late elementary school dismissal.

    No further information regarding the incident has been released.

    When they determine who made the threat they should be charged with a felony and do real jail time. Nothing else will stop these threats but serious accountability. And no “but Johnny was bullied or struggles with mental health”. And perhaps charges for the parents not getting them help with these “issues”.
