    Grammy award-winning artist orchestrates a night of healing for National Fentanyl Awareness Day

    Amara Rose Foundation holds special event marking National Fentanyl Awareness Day

    WESTBY, Wis. (WKBT) -- May 7 is National Fentanyl Awareness Day. The Amara Rose Foundation held a special event Tuesday evening at the Westby Area Performing Arts Center to bring hope to those fighting addiction.

    A special performance by three-time Grammy winner Bill Miller was the highlight of the night. He shared stories about his journey with addiction and recovery, and performed songs and orchestrated a healing circle.

    A board member of the Amara Rose Foundation says their mission tonight is to offer support and resources to those struggling with addiction.

    "I think it's really important that people know that there's hope in getting out of addiction," said Julie Tully, board member of the Amara Rose Foundation .

    "That it is very difficult, but there are groups, there's support. Our foundation is more than willing to make contacts for people so hopefully they can get help."

    If you missed Tuesday's event, they are holding another one Wednesday, May 8 at Connect Church in Onalaska starting at 6:30 PM.

    Bill Miller will be performing again, and the event is free to the public.
