    Syttende Mai Royalty ready to celebrate Norwegian heritage in Westby

    WESTBY, Wis. (WKBT) -- Syttende Mai, the national holiday of Norway, is observed on May 17 every year to mark the day in 1814 when the Constitution of Norway was signed.

    Here in the United States, the holiday is a time to celebrate Norwegian heritage, with festivals featuring the traditional foods, games, and dances of the Scandinavian country.

    One such festival will happen this weekend in Westby, where Syttende Mai events will run from Friday to Sunday.

    On Wednesday, Westby's Syttende Mai Royalty spoke with News 8 Now This Morning 's Alexandra Carter about the upcoming festivities.
