LAX Regional Airport performs mock aircraft emergency exercise with area first responders

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- The La Crosse Regional Airport practiced an emergency exercise Friday with numerous mutual aid partners.

A fake airport emergency scenario was setup; involving passengers, crew and first responders.

The training exercise allows the airport and first responders to prepare for an actual aircraft emergency in a controlled environment.

This exercise is practiced three times a year as part of a requirement to maintain certifications with the FAA.

La Crosse County Emergency Management and emergency responders from La Crosse, Town of Campbell, Onalaska, and Brice Prairie all participated.
