Logan HS students learn area history through a scavenger hunt

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- Logan High School students hit the town Friday to learn more about La Crosse's history through a scavenger hunt.

The students broke into teams and solved riddles leading them to area businesses and the public library.

The hunt included winning extra points for finding medallions with their teachers' faces on them.

Eric Martin teaches U.S. History and Social Studies at Logan.  He said the scavenger hunt accomplishes two things at once.

"The students really are excited about the day, and they come back very positive and they know a little bit more about our city, and are able are able to connect it to the U.S. history that they've studied all year, so it's a win-win, we get to be out and about on a nice day, they get to learn history." said Martin.

This is the tenth year the high school hosted the scavenger hunt.  Whichever team had the most points by the end of the hunt, won a prize.
