Rush Wisconsin West's equipment drive will benefit soccer players across the globe

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- Coulee Region families donated soccer equipment that will go to youth soccer players from across the globe during Monday night's Rush Wisconsin West's REACH event.

The biennial equipment drive collects gently used or new soccer gear to donate to soccer players in developing countries.

Since the program started in 2016, Rush has supported hundreds of kids.

Club President Scott Thesing said this year's equipment drive will benefit players in Zambia and the South Pacific Rim.

He added that Coulee Region families look forward to the event because they can get rid of old items while also doing good.

"They know these events are coming and that we will collect it and make sure it gets to the right places so that the next generation and next group of kids can use it," Thesing said.

Rush combined Monday's equipment drive with a club dinner.

If you have old soccer equipment that you would like to donate, you can reach out to Rush leaders at rushwiwest@gmail.com.
