Part of Wisconsin 82 to be closed starting Tuesday

VERNON COUNTY, WIS. (WKBT) -- If you use Wisconsin route 82 as part of your daily commute you may want to start planning a new way to work.

According to a Wisconsin Department of Transportation press release, roadwork is set to begin Tuesday, May 28 on a multi-million dollar resurfacing project that would require the road to be shutdown.

The $9.7 million project will close and resurface Wisconsin 82 between Wisconsin 35 in De Soto and Wisconsin 27.

The project will also include maintenance to 9 box culverts, new pavement markings, and the replacing of curb, gutters, and guardrails along the route.

WISDOT expects the road to be closed until September 13 and will then remain open under flagging operations until it's expected completion date of October 31.

WisDOT is also advises that drivers who typically take Wisconsin 82 to instead take Wisconsin 56 and U.S. 14 as a way to get around the construction.
