A bittersweet day for the High School seniors graduating at Lincoln High School in Alma Center today

ALMA CENTER, Wis. (WKBT) -- It was a bittersweet day for the high school seniors graduating from Lincoln High School in Alma Center on Friday.

Of the 41 students scheduled to graduate, one person did not get their chance to walk across the stage.

On Tuesday, Lincoln High School senior Roman Fronk was tragically killed after being hit by a train while driving.

The class valedictorian Luke Fischer remembered Fronk in his commencement speech.

"No matter your situation, Roman could always find a way to make you laugh and put a smile on your face. My classmates and I would agree with that, as we have spent countless occasions laughing at every single one of Roman's jokes. Besides being funny, he was one of the most caring, hard-working, and bright guys I knew" said Fischer.

Roman was going to graduate with a 4.0 GPA, and was active in the schools athletics.
