    Jackson Co. man sentenced 15 years for 2022 shooting incident

    BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. (WKBT) -- A Jackson County man was sentenced on Tuesday for a 2022 shooting incident in Black River Falls.

    According to a news release, 52-year-old Roy Thompson received a 15-year sentence which consists of 10 years in the Wisconsin State Prison and five years of extended supervision.

    Thompson was arrested in 2022 after police responded to a call regarding a man running around and shooting a handgun on New Years Day.

    In March 2023, Thompson was convicted of domestic first degree recklessly endangering safety with a dangerous weapon as a repeater and possessing a firearm as an outstate felon as a repeater.
