NEXT 24 HRS: Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue until midnight or so activity, although a few showers may persist overnight. Temperatures will fall into the 60s. Areas of Fog will develop as cloud cover decreases afternoon.  This could be dense at times, especially in NE Iowa. As waves rotate around the low, spinning to the northwest of the area on Friday, showers and thunderstorms will again develop by the late morning and continue through the afternoon. A strong storm or two is possible, especially east of I-94. This activity will slowly diminish by midnight once again.

    SPC DAY 2 - DMA.png

LOOKING AHEAD: The low pushes far enough east on Saturday, so the areas see more sunshine than clouds by the afternoon. However, a few afternoon showers are still possible, especially for areas northeast of Eau Claire. Dry conditions are expected Sunday through the first few days of the new work week, with temperatures climbing to near or slightly above average. Slight cooler conditions return Wednesday through Friday before we return to near or slightly above-average temperatures (80s) for the weekend and the start of the new work week. Although this period looks dry, we cannot rule out some weak system brushing the area from the north, which could spark off some showers on any; however, significant systems are not anticipated.
