A brat barn raises funds for area youth in crisis

ONALASKA (WKBT) -- A brat barn in Onalaska is helping support area youth at risk.

RHYMES , a non-profit that provides basic essentials for homeless and runaway youth, hosted a brat barn at Festival Foods in Onalaska Friday.

Brats, hamburgers and hotdogs were sold to raise funds for the organization.

The money will help provide youth ages 12-24 with shelter, food, clothing or just a place to take a shower. Educational and employment resources are also available to help them achieve life-long skills of stability.

"An opportunity for shelter, has an opportunity to eat, has an opportunity for just the basic necessities of life and being able to grow in a way that's going to be truly beneficial for their well-being," says youth advocate, Louis McGuire.
