Overnight fog with another pleasant day on tap for Wednesday

WHAT WE ARE TRACKING: Quiet and mild weather conditions continue through Friday before heat and humidity return for the weekend and the first part of next week.

NEXT 24 HRS: High c loud coverage continue to increase through through this evening , leaving much of the area’s temps to top out in the upper-70s. A s the clouds move in, a reas in southeast Minnesota could see s ome light sprinkles this evening; however, the chances are slim. Skies turn partly cloudy after midnight. Fog will develop in some areas towards sunrise as temperatures fall into the 40s and 50s. Once the fog burns off, skies will eventually become mostly sunny by the afternoon, with temperatures rising into the 70s. A few locations may climb into the low 80s.

LOOKING AHEAD: Dry and mild conditions are expected through Thursday as high pressure remains over or near the area. The pattern begins to turn by Friday as the winds aloft turn more southwesterly, resulting in warmer temperatures (90s) and more humid conditions lifting northeast quickly into the region for the weekend and the first part of next week. This pattern change may result in some showers Thursday night, but chances remain low. As winds aloft turn to the west and eventually northwest towards mid-next week, temperatures slowly return to average (middle 70s to low 80s is average by this point). Low rain chances accompany this pattern change during the middle of next week.
