Partly cloudy skies and cooler temps before our weekend warm up

WHAT WE ARE TRACKING: Cloud cover will continue to increase through Tuesday with partly cloudy conditions and highs in the upper-70s.

NEXT 24 HRS: The smoky haze from the previous few days has moved to our west, leaving behind mostly sunny sk ies as of Tuesday morning. Cloud coverage will continue to increase through the afternoon and evening , leaving much of the area’s temps to top out in the upper-70s. A s the clouds move in, a reas in southeast Minnesota could see s ome light sprinkles this evening; however, the chances are very slim at 10-20%.

LOOKING AHEAD: T he remainder of the week still looks like it will stay quiet. We’ll have a little bit of a cool stretch, with highs a few degre es below average ( 75 –80F). By Thursday, highs will begin their gradual climb to our short shot of hotter and humid weather this weekend. Saturday looks to be the first warmer day with highs peaking in the upper-80s. Sunday and Monday will be the hottest stretch with many areas seeing 90 degrees once again. Dew points will rise into the upper-60s and low-70s once again, producing heat indices ( feels like temperatures) in the mid to upper-90s. Luckily, we are not tracking this heat to stick around for too long as high temps are forecasted to fall back to normal by mid n ex t week.
