Bluff Bash at Upper Hixon Forest trailhead

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- The city of La Crosse Parks, Recreation, and Forestry hosted their Bluff Bash Sunday at the upper Hixon Forest trailhead.

The Bluff Bash is a free event featuring a variety of family friendly activities including guided hikes, face painting, and yard games.

Live music and food trucks were also available for attendees.

The event celebrates the abundance of natural and outdoor recreation opportunities the La Crosse area has to offer.

"Sometimes we can take outdoor recreation for granted and might not even know what we have in our backyard. So, if folks have not been up here before it gives them an opportunity to explore what we have," said Sami Meyer the Outdoor Coordinator for La Crosse Parks Department.
