Green Bay Packer Hall of Famer visits Scouting in the Coulee Region's golf fundraiser

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- Community members teed off at the La Crosse Country Club Monday morning to support Scouting in the Coulee Region.

The outing began with a shotgun start and featured hole-in-one challenges and giveaways.

Participants also had the chance to meet special guest Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame Quarterback Lynn Dickey.

Dickey said that his time in the Boy Scouts organization taught him a valuable lesson about discipline.

"If you don't get anything out of it other than 'I have a chore, I have an assignment'...but the discipline it takes to go ahead and do those chores and do those accomplishments...I think you're learning at a young age how to discipline yourself to do something and accomplish it," said Dickey.

Funds raised at Monday's golf outing will go towards Scouting programs in eight Southwest Wisconsin Counties and Houston County, Minnesota.
