LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- On Tuesday, a healthy breakfast helped raise awareness for mental health.

Great Rivers United Way held its annual fundraising breakfast, marking the start of its yearly campaign. This initiative focused on supporting mental health programs and providing essential needs like food, shelter, and safety for those in need.

A recent 2024 Compass Now Report, conducted by Great Rivers United Way and local health systems, highlighted mental health as a significant concern in the Coulee Region.

"We want to let everybody know that we heard them and so we're forcing in on mental well-being in terms of improving it, in terms of forcing in on programming from what we can do," said Great Rivers United Way Executive Director.
