Temperatures surge this weekend with hot conditions and t-storm chances.

W H AT WE ARE TRACKING: Highs begin to climb to the upper 80s to start the weekend with Sunday and Monday providing heat indices in the upper-90s. T-storms will be possible Saturday and Monday nights.

NEXT 24 HRS: Our long stretch of below average temperatures is nearing its end as a much warmer air mass settles in on Saturday. Highs will climb to the upper-80s with heat indices (“feels like temps”) reaching the low-90s. Much of the day will see mostly sunny skies before rain chances begin in the evening. There will be a slight chance of isolated thundersto rms Saturday overnight, primarily south of I-94. These storms look to organize more towards early Sunday morning (3-7 am), becoming more scattered in nature.

LOOKING AHEAD: Sunday and Monday will be the hottest days with many areas seeing highs in the 90s once again . Dew points in the low-70s will bring muggy conditions , producing heat indices in the mid to upper-90s. If you have outdoor plans at any time this weekend, take precautions for this hazardous heat. Pack extra water an d plan to spend extra time in the shade. Monday night could see some scattered thunderstorms as a low-pressure system passes over. Rain chances for Monday night remain around 30% currently but expect this to change as we go into the weekend. Luckily, we are not tracking this heat to stick around for too long as high temps are forecasted to fall back to normal by Wednesday. Thunderstorm chances return Thursday as a cold front passes through providing 30 -50% chance of rain for much of the area.
