    Staying Cool For The Weekend

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- It's heating up this weekend, so being prepared is essential.

Gundersen Health Tri-State Ambulance reminds everyone planning to be outdoors to be mindful of the risks of heat.

To prevent heat stroke or heat exhaustion, it's essential to stay hydrated, limit time spent outdoors, and wear sunscreen.

"Compared to your average summer weekend, we might see more people out on the water or on the river. Some people are more likely to stay inside, try to stay away from the heat and stay in the air. We might see increased volumes for those heat-related issues," said Sean Hallfrisch, shift lead medic, Tri-State Ambulance Inc.

To learn more about how to stay cool and detect the signs of a heat stroke, visit Gundersen Health's website.
