    New French Island Dog Park

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- Sunday marks the completion of a project that has been two years in the making.

The Allison Renee and Bella memorial dog park is named in honor of Allison Renee and her dog Bella, who tragically lost their lives in a domestic violence incident in 2022.

Allison's classmates and friends gathered to share what the park means to them. One eagle scout said people should not be afraid to speak up if they encounter a situation involving domestic violence.

"It's important to remember her story so that we can hope to prevent it in the future," said Dominic Kreiling, eagle scout.

He adds there is a chance for the park to be expanded in the near future. Roughly 80 to 90 people were in attendance.
