NEXT 24 HRS: Wind speeds will begin to quickly speed up through Saturday morning. Sustained winds will be out of the southeast, blowing at 10-15mph. Gusts could be as high as 35 mph, especially throughout the afternoon. The daytime period will also be mostly sunny and much warmer, with highs in the low to mid-80s. By Saturday evening, a frontal system will begin passing over the area, causing the winds to shift to be out of the west. This system has the opportunity to bring some showers and thunderstorms with it. As of now, areas north of I-90 have the greatest chance of seeing stronger storms, with the greatest threat being damaging winds gusts. Otherwise, accumulation is looking lighter with most areas seeing no more than 0.5 inches. Expect a 30-50% chance of showers across the area between 5-10pm.
