    Man in fatal child neglect case bound over for trial

    LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- A La Crosse man charged in a child's death is bound over for trial.

    43-year-old Lavon Liggins and 34-year-old Brittany Basley are charged with felony child neglect causing death.

    Liggins' 15-month-old son died from fentanyl toxicity one year ago.

    Both Liggins and Basley have prior convictions for child neglect. Liggins has also been convicted of delivering narcotics.

    Judge Scott Horne Friday found probable cause Liggins committed a felony after law enforcement and medical testimony.

    Liggins will be arraigned next Wednesday.
