Hunger Task Force holds Virtual Food Drive as shelves remain 'dangerously low'

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- The Hunger Task Force of La Crosse will hold their 2nd annual Virtual Food Drive during the month of October.

The food drive allows people to shop online by making donations towards specific food items that the Hunger Task force will then purchase. Shoppers also have the option of making a cash donation.

Local food pantries have seen an increased demand due to the rising cost of groceries. According to Executive Director Shelly Fortner, their food shelves are dangerously low.

Food Donations made to the Hunger Task Force will be distributed to a number of pantries, meal and youth programs within their network.

The drive will run from Sept. 30 to Oct. 31. To learn more or make a donation visit lacrossehft.org
