Economic and Community Development Commission meets to discuss Cooper Rocks development

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- The Economic and Community Development Commission met Monday to discuss the redevelopment project at the old Kmart.

Three Sixty Real Estate Solutions plans to develop the spot into a multi-use complex that includes housing and commercial use.

The development will be named "Cooper Rocks."

The plan is still in predevelopment as they gather all the data for costs of the project.

"We're continuing to massage the numbers with respect to the rents, for the income of the property. The project costs, we redid the site to some degree to get some of those costs down. The biggest obstacle we face right now is the interest rates," said Vice President of Development for Three-Sixty Real Estate Jeremy Novak.

Developers want all elements of Cooper Rocks to be in place before any of the old Kmart is demolished.
