Repinski, Kruger share priorities during Winona League of Women Voters forum

WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) -- The League of Women Voters in Winona hosted a candidate forum for several Minnesota House seats Tuesday night at the City Council chambers.

Republican Aaron Repinski and Democrat Sarah Kruger are running for House District 26A, which covers most of Winona County.

Both candidates spoke about their background in Winona, the need for bipartisanship in St. Paul, and addressing economic concerns.

They say they want their time in the House to reflect constituent priorities.

"Making sure I'm voting in a way that is always based on the district, not necessarily based on a caucus, not based on a party I'm affiliated with," said Kruger.

"Everybody always talks about the economy and how we increased our budget 38 percent over two years with having a surplus. Government needs fiscal responsibility and transparency," said Repinski.

Repinski serves on Winona City Council while Kruger is chief of staff for a pro-democracy nonprofit FairVote Minnesota.
