Man avoids reckless homicide conviction in drug overdose death plea deal

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- An Arkansas man will avoid a reckless homicide conviction due to a plea deal reached Tuesday.

26-year-old Lathan Foster was accused of 1st degree reckless homicide after allegedly selling fentanyl to a West Salem man who overdosed on those drugs and died in December of 2021.

A plea deal reached Tuesday altered his charge to a felony count of manufacturing and delivering narcotics, to which Foster pleaded no contest and was found guilty.

A sentencing hearing is set for December 3.
