La Crosse Common Council meets to discuss new administrator position

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- La Crosse common council met to discuss the creation of a City Administrator position.

A city administrator is a non-partisan role that handles more day-to-day city operations.

The council deferred the decision until June.

Some council members felt there was a lack of public input and should allow time to hear more opinions.

The position was first pitched by Mayor Mitch Reynolds who believes a city administrator could help the city run more efficiently.

Reynolds says this is a step in the right direction.

"I'm trying to set a course so at some point this can be approved in the future. And we can't get there unless it's introduced and we talk about it, and it becomes part of our public conversation," said Mitch Reynolds.

A resolution was also approved to transition airport fire truck 2 from using AFFF to F3 foam.

The new F3 foam is a new PFAS free firefighting foam.
