    Alliance of Wisconsin Animal Rehoming Efforts holds Pet Expo LAX to benefit homeless animal population

    AWARE Pet Expo | La Crosse

    LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- The Alliance of Wisconsin Animal Rehoming Efforts hosted a fundraiser Sunday.

    The funds will benefit Wisconsin's homeless animal population.

    Pet Expo LAX is the first event held by the statewide organization in the La Crosse area.

    They have held the expo in Milwaukee for 20 years.

    The event gave people looking to adopt a pet a chance to meet adoptable companions from local shelters.

    Attendees could also learn more about what pet is the best fit for them.

    "People can come learn about their animals, our animals that are available, they can learn about products to help out their animals. Because the end goal is to keep animals in homes," said AWARE Executive Director Beth Enneking.

    The expo also offered educational opportunities for reptiles, small animals. and wildlife.
