Adding local insights and analytics to empower NewsBreak contributors

We’re excited to announce our latest product update for NewsBreak’s Contributor Network. We have rolled out new audience data, which updates our Analytics tab to feature more local insights and empowers creators to reach more followers within their communities.

After listening to feedback from our contributors, we have been working to add more insights to help creators better understand their distinct audience. Whereas other platforms often display information such as page views or likes, NewsBreak’s revamped “Analytics” tab puts a focus on local users' needs and preferences.

Learning from local insights

The new analytics surface where contributors' viewers are located. Contributors are now able to view not just where their viewers are overall, but where their audience is per article or video as well.

There is also added information on other accounts your local viewers follow, giving you more insights into what type of content your audience is regularly consuming and the news that drives retention.

Coupled with this added data is our “Local Insights” tab. This feature is a tool from NewsBreak that shows creators trending local content across different topics. It is a tool that is meant to help inspire creativity around local topics of interest and ensure contributors' content provides unique value to users.

Building a dedicated, local following

With these added features, we hope that contributors are better able to grow their local audience and positively impact their community.

These new tools allow creators to hone in one what type of content is resonating with not just their viewers in general, but local viewers. So instead of just measuring based on time and making assumptions about where followers are coming from, this data focuses on local impact for each piece of content. From these insights, creators can more accurately deduce where likes, comments and follows are coming from and include these insights into topic coverage that matters to their local users.

The updated analytics experience not only gives contributors more insights into their own content performance, but also rich insights into other local content and creators. Contributors can see other local accounts their viewers are following and use this information to grow and even collaborate.
