Meet Fishing Colorado, our February NewsBreak Contributor of the Month

Our Contributor of the Month series shines a spotlight on the amazing writers and video creators who make NewsBreak the vibrant space it is today.

Our February Contributor of the Month is Michael Romero, a.k.a. Fishing Colorado, who is based in Denver, Colorado. Since joining NewsBreak’s Contributor Network last spring, he’s garnered over 12,000 followers who love his original fishing and outdoor videos. We recently caught up with him to learn more about his NewsBreak journey and tips for fellow content creators.

What's your favorite part about contributing to NewsBreak?

My favorite part about creating content for NewsBreak is simply having the freedom of creation and the ability to share the amazing outdoor experiences that I love with other people! Being able to connect with others through shared experiences or, even for some, being able to give them reasons to enjoy the great outdoors, truly brings me joy.

What makes your community unique?

Denver, the surrounding cities, and Colorado itself truly have so much to offer in terms of outdoor activities and fishing opportunities! I love exploring our beautiful state and finding great new hidden gems along the way. All the while doing what I love in my hometown.

What advice would you give to other contributors who want to be successful on NewsBreak?

My advice would be to stay persistent as a creator and continue posting high-quality content that interests you the most. Make the content that you want to see, stay creative, stay fresh, and eventually you will find your audience.

What's been your favorite video to work on?

I think that my favorite video published would have to be either the American Bald Eagle Eats Trout or the Underwater Bass Eats. I love both of these videos because not only were they memorable to film, but the footage showcases some very unseen moments in nature
