In honor of Father’s Day, NewsBreak invited contributors to share stories about father figures and Father’s Day events in their communities. In response, contributors from all across the country submitted stories on everything from budget-friendly ways to celebrate the day in Georgia to a Pennsylvania shelter that was originally designed for mothers and their children being expanded to include fathers too.

For Editor’s Pick, NewsBreak’s content team selected contributor Camilo Díaz’s story about a unique way to celebrate Father’s Day: taking the father figures in your life to Spencer-Pierce-Little Farm, a national historical landmark in Massachusetts, for a baseball game.

In the Top Story Category, which is awarded to the stories that perform the best in their local area, contributor Inna D won for her Denver Father’s Day Guide. The guide included all sorts of ideas curated according to dads’ different interests, including events for “the athletic dad,” “the traditional dad,” and “the wine dad.”

The second winner in the Top Story category was contributor healingtomato, who wrote about the best vegan restaurants to take your dad in Orlando, Florida.
