Announcing NewsBreak's Summer Fun Content Campaign winners! ☀️😎🍉⛱

Summer may be over, but the fun isn't. For the last leg of the season, NewsBreak asked contributors to submit stories about events and festivities happening in their communities over the past few weeks. Whether contributors were beating the heat or the rain, by the beach or near the desert, they came through in providing recommendations about how to spend the last stretch of summer.

In the Editor's Pick catgeory, contributor Vince Martellacci wins for his story about the top five hotels in East Bay for staycations. When people think of summer, they often think going away for a vacation, but Martellaci's story proves you can have just as much fun locally. His list of hotels isn't generic, but rather comprehensive, providing readers with in-depth details on the amenities, prices, room, and "whether or not you even have to leave the hotel for a good time."

For our Top Category, CJ Coombs wins for her story about where to get delicious shaved ice in Kansas City. As CJ writes, it can be difficult to get your hands on real shaved ice if you're not in Hawaii, but Lilo's Shaved Ice in Missouri offers a closer option for those in her community.

Contributor Tiffany T. also wins in the Top Story category for her unique spin on how to visit Knott's Berry Farm in California with teens.
