Kelly was voted the CCC Women’s Track Athlete of the Meet and the men’s team earned the CCC Team Sportsmanship award to go with five All-Cascade Conference honors on the day.The women’s team placed fourth overall with 99 points while the men finished fifth with 80 points.“Pretty good second day,” Head Coach Mike Collins said. “We definitely hit some good marks in some events, and there are others where we fell just short of our goals. Very pleased with our awards at the end of the meet and very humbled. The men’s sportsmanship award says a lot about the character of our team and the respect that they are given by other athletes outside of actual track and field performances.Kelly won the 400m hurdles to give her two conference titles on the weekend and added a third All-CCC honor as a member of the 4x400m relay team. Every event she was part of hit a national standard.“Very excited for Madigan as well when it comes to her personal success in her individual events, as well as her contributions to both relays,” Collins added.THE WOMENKelly repeated as the CCC Champion in the 100m hurdles on Friday and followed the performance up with a win in the 400m hurdles. The junior ran a career-best time of 1:02.89, third-best in school history and the 12th best time in the NAIA this season. After setting a school record with a national-qualifying time in the 4x100m relay on day one, she hit a national standard and earned All-CCC honors with a third-place finish in the 4x400m relay on Saturday with a time of 3:54.26.The 4x400m relay team consisted of Anika Grogan, Sydnie Zywina, Kelly and Emily Collins, all of whom had big weekends individually. Collins and Grogan earned All-CCC honors in the 400m on Friday, and Zywina shattered her own record in with a win in the triple jump on Saturday.Orofino native Zywina leapt a distance of 12.13m to best her previous record of 12.01m. She earned her first CCC title in the process with the fifth-best mark in the NAIA this season.“A great day for Sydnie,” Collins said. “In the 4x400m relay, I don’t the team hits the national mark without her, so a big pat on the back for her. Then a school record in the triple jump; she is really coming around and we are excited to see what she is going to do at nationals in a couple weeks.”Grogan placed fifth in the 100m dash to start the day on the track with a season-best time of 12.47. Freshman Karissa Lindner was ninth (12.51). Sara Hathaway was sixth in the 400m hurdles (1:06.43).Jennah Carpenter was fifth in the high jump with a provisional mark of 1.65m.Grace Tiegs ran a personal-best time of 2:17.39 in the 800m to finish seventh and Aubree Williams was 14th (2:20.79).In throwing events, Kea Stieglitz hit the B standard in the javelin to finish seventh *39.43m) and Gianna Anderson was 15th (30.50m). Haylee Appleford placed seventh in the shot put (11.79m) and Grace Osborne was 15th (10.05m).THE MENTrenton Johnson had a big day in the men’s triple jump with a school record to earn All-CCC honors in third place. He hit his first A standard with a leap of 14.68m.“Another big mark in the triple jump mark as well on the men’s side for TJ who went out and hit the A standard,” Collins said. “Things are coming along well but we definitely have some room to grow.”Griffen Parsells earned All-CCC honors to lead the Warrior men in the 800m. He placed third (1:53.26) and Kobe Wessels just missed conference honors in fourth (1:54.25). Carter Gordon placed fifth (1:54.43), Cooper Carlson was 11th (1:57.57), Conner May placed 16th (1:59.72) and Tristin O’Brien ran a PR to finish 18th (2:01.21).Senior Ike Hopper placed fifth in the 400m hurdles (55.25). The team of Hopper, Johnson, Gordon and London Kirk finished fifth in the 4x400m relay (3:17.97).Sophomore Jedidiah Barnaby led LC State in the 100m dash with a sixth-place time of 10.96. Preston Cooper was 14th (11.21) and Jordan Castillo placed 16th (11.31). Later in the meet Cooper ran the fourth fastest time in school history to place ninth in the 200m (22.07). Barnaby was 10th (22.09) and Castillo placed 14th (22.33).Luke Sellmann placed 14th in the 5,000m (17:22.76). Sam Weller was 10th in the shot put (12.93m).The Warriors will gear up for the 2024 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships May 22-24 in Marion, Ind.</div></body>
