    Indiana has a school attendance problem. Hundreds gathered to find a solution

    A bad stomach bug and the flu in the same year can cause children to go over the limit. The school wants a doctors note for both of those. It’s ridiculous that the word of the parent isn’t good enough. Especially when two of the three children are on the honor roll and the third is almost on the honor roll. Missed time is missed time whether it’s with the doctors note or not. If a child can miss more than the allotted numbers of days that the school board, deems acceptable and still maintain grades that place them on the honor roll then maybe the teachers aren’t pushing enough information at the kids. And furthermore, why is the school concerned about students that are on the honor roll yet are missing more than the allotted numbers of days.
