The city and state have failed our constituents by encouraging the use of marijuana and other drug use and alcoholism. Every recovery program will tell you that marijuana is a precursor to harder drugs. This also encourages drug dealers to come here and take our streets. It will come to a point where that they will want to reduce criminalization of heroin and fentanyl use. Why pour millions of dollars into addiction recovery programs when we have leaders who encourage the practice of using illegal drugs? As a person who has watched lives be destroyed and who over sees a recovery meeting in the city of Charleston I am appalled by this reasoning from our leaders.
