I had the exact same issue. It was the day before Thanksgiving and I went into my garage to do a load of laundry. When I walked back out, there was raw sewage coming from under the door of the bathroom that the previous owner had added. I’m a retired school teacher. I knew that I couldn’t afford holiday pay for a plumber, so I shut my garage door and numbing went to decompress. I had to call family and cancel for the holiday as well as pay $10,000 to have it repaired! Next Spring, here comes a contractor from the water company digging up my pipes to fix the problem. I had to take out a loan.
