Methane leaks are a major contributor to climate change, responsible for more than 25% of global warming. Methane being a colorless, odorless gas that traps more heat in the atmosphere than carbon dioxide (CO2) per molecule, making it 80 times more harmful for 20 years after it's released. Methane leaks can also contribute to the destruction of the ozone layer, which protects the Earth from 97% of the sun's UV rays…Methane is used to make organic chemicals and is a common ingredient in fertilizers. It can also be refined into liquid form and used as rocket fuel or as an antifreeze ingredient in industries.
