    Ford knew that these motors were junk when they developed them over in Europe with cheap materials and parts and still put them in their cars and SUVs. People should know that these 3 cylinder motors are also in Mazda small cars and SUVs also. Poor quality giant rubberband timing belt and oil pump belt which isn't keyed to the crankshaft and falls apart over time being soaked in an oil bath is the root cause of it destroying the motor. Ford's problem is going overseas for the cheapest quality parts and they're paying for it now. Same with their 6 speed Powershift transmission with sub standard German oil seals that leaks into the dry clutch making it slip jerk when driving. Quality just isn't there.
